The Nokia N70 is the first of the Nokia Nseries smartphones to be released in the UK. The Nokia N70 is a 3G smartphone, similar to the popular and successful Nokia 6680, but with upgraded features.
Physically the Nokia N70 is similar in appearance to the Nokia 6680, with a conventional boxy shape and a functional keypad with a five-way scroll key, two soft keys, an application key, and a multimedia key. The Nokia N70 is slightly thicker than the Nokia 6680, but lighter. The screen is a good size and the two cameras are well located. Overall, it's a good, practical design for a smartphone, and the most traditional-looking of the Nokia Nseries phones. The surface does scratch however, so take good care of it.
The Nokia N70 is a powerful imaging device with a high quality camera with 2 megapixels. This is the first Nokia phone to break the 2 megapixel barrier. The camera has a very powerful 20x digital zoom, an integrated flash and a choice of modes including scenery, portrait, night and sports. It's possible to control settings such as brightness, white balance settings and colour tones. There's a dedicated camera button and a protective slide. Nokia XpressPrint enables you to print photos directly to a PictBridge-compliant printer. Video recording is also possible (but not at the 2 megapixel resolution). A Movie Director application is supplied for editing videos.
The Nokia N70 has the full range of 3G capabilities, including video calling, video downloads and video/music streaming. A second VGA resolution camera is used for making video calls. Data transfer via 3G is very fast, opening up the possibility of media streaming and music or video downloads. The display on the Nokia N70 is first class with 262k colours and a bright active matrix display. It's a great multimedia device.
The RealPlayer media player supports video playback in MPEG4 format, plus audio in a choice of formats including MP3, AAC, Real Audio, WAV and Nokia Ring Tones. The Visual Radio lets you listen to songs from radio stations, with information about the song and artist. A stereo headset is supplied as part of the sales package.
The internal memory of the device is 30 Mbytes, with the addition of a 64 Mbyte MMC card which can be hot-swapped. Connectivity is via Bluetooth or USB.
It's very hard to fault the Nokia N70. It's a great 3G smartphone - the best of this type released so far. If you're looking for a device of this type, the Nokia N70 is your choice. It's very much evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but we are not going to criticise Nokia for that - in the past they have often introduced change purely for its own sake. The Nokia N70 takes the Nokia 6680, which was already a fantastic phone, and adds a little bit extra to make it even better. The only reservation that we have about the Nokia N70 is that there are reports of it occasionally freezing or crashing, and it can also be a little slow at times.

Released two full years after the previous Nokia 9210i Communicator, the Nokia 9500 Communicator has been eagerly awaited for a long time. Technology has moved forward a long way since 2002, and the Nokia 9500 has plenty of new features to offer.
The list of enhancements is extensive, but top of the list are:
- An enhanced 65k colour display (internal and external)
- 80 Mbytes memory
- Wi-Fi support and Bluetooth wireless connectivity
- Integrated VGA camera and video recorder
- Triband operation

The Nokia 9500 Communicator is compatible with most Lotus and Windows programs that support currently available Microsoft Office formats (MS Office 97 onwards).
The new TFT internal display is an excellent screen that is much brighter and easier to use in bright sunlight. Both the internal and external keyboards have also been improved, making typing quicker and more reliable. Internally, there is much more memory available - both user storage and RAM - and the processor is considerably faster. But perhaps the most welcome feature for many will be the Wi-Fi support, enabling mobile users to connect to the internet at broadband speeds, when located in a suitable Wi-Fi "hotspot".
But what about the old bugbear of the Communicator series - its bulk? Well, the Nokia 9500 is around 10% lighter than the Nokia 9210i and very slightly smaller. Nokia are clearly trying hard, but this is still a bulky machine to carry around.

The Nokia 9300 smartphone is like a little brother of the Nokia 9500 Communicator. It shares many of the features of the Nokia 9500, but misses out on others.
Physically, the two devices are similar, with both having the benefit of a full QWERTY keyboard and a very large internal display (640 x 200 pixels, 65,000 colours). The Nokia 9300 is considerably smaller and lighter, but still a bit of a brick when compared to normal phones.
The Nokia 9300 shares the Symbian 7 operating system of the Nokia 9500, making it a powerful smartphone. Messaging is a strong point, with SMS, MMS and full email support for a wide range of protocols. There is built-in software to allow email attachments to be viewed and edited - support is provided for documents, spreadsheets and presentations, and the software is MS Office compatible. There's a file manager, and a web browser that supports HTML and XHTML.
The Nokia 9300 also has a range of advanced voice features, such as an integrated handsfree speakerphone, conference calling and a voice recorder. It's a triband phone that will work in the USA.
Connectivity is excellent, with Bluetooth and Infrared available for wireless connectivity, and USB 2.0 also available. A fax port is included, and high speed data transfer over EDGE enables data to be downloaded at speeds of up to 236.8 kbit/s. The Nokia 9300 comes with 80 Mbytes of internal memory, plus an expandable MMC memory card. Battery life is acceptable.
The features missing from the Nokia 9300 that are included in the Nokia 9500 are: Wi-Fi support, an integrated camera & video recorder and some of the advanced contact management features. If you won't miss these features, then the Nokia 9300 could be your phone: it's smaller, lighter and cheaper and you get a lot for your money! Realiability seems to be pretty good, despite a slightly temperamental Bluetooth connection. Just bear in mind that it's not a PDA, so don't expect it to be everything that a PDA is. Oh, and there's no vibration alert - beware of this if it's a feature that you need to have.

Nokia 8910i Review

The Nokia 8910i is a unique mobile phone. Constructed with black titanium covers, and with a smooth slide opening action, the Nokia 8910i is designed to make a big first impression. Titanium metal is as strong as steel and as light as aluminium, making it an excellent durable material, albeit very expensive! This is, of course, the point.
It must be understood that by paying £400+ for a phone you are buying exclusivity and looks, not the latest technology. Inside its titanium case, the Nokia 8910i cannot compete with more modern phones feature-wise. True, it has all the basics for making calls and messaging and can sync with a PC using Bluetooth, but that's it. The display is poor quality in comparison with the latest phones; only 4096 colours, and the passive matrix technology means that the screen is dim and very difficult to read outdoors. There are no applications such as email, or organiser functions that come with smartphones. And of course, if you want a camera, MP3 player, etc, then please look elsewhere.
The Nokia 8910i fits a narrow niche, and fits it well: the person wanting a phone with essential phone features only, but one that will make a big impression.
The Nokia 8910i has now been replaced by the Nokia 8800, which offers the same exclusivity and style but with more up-to-date features as well.

Once in a while a phone is made that stands out from the crowd, that is outstanding in its appearance and design. The Nokia 8800 is one such phone. It's not cheap; in fact it's extremely expensive, but that's the point. As the successor to the Nokia 8910i, exclusivity is what the Nokia 8800 is all about.
Physically the Nokia 8800 is unique. The body features a laser-cut stainless steel cover that slides down to reveal the keypad within. The stainless steel covers are highly durable and provide excellent protection for the phone. The screen is made from reinforced scratch-resistant glass, so the Nokia 8800 is engineered to last, which is just as well considering the price! As well as being durable it is superbly crafted and beautiful of course. The phone is quite heavy, due to the metal case, but feels good to hold. The keypad is partially obscured by the casing and isn't as easy to use as more conventional designs, especially the bottom row of keys.
Inside there is further attention to detail, with an exclusive user interface with its own styles and themes. The Nokia 8800 comes with a set of ringtones composed especially for the Nokia 8800 by Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Moving on to the functionality of the device, the Nokia 8800 isn't exactly at the cutting edge, but isn't too far away. The phone features an integrated 0.5 megapixel camera with a good quality video recorder. The TFT display really is impressive, being very sharp and bright. It's rated at 262,000 colours and has a higher resolution than the Samsung D500, making it one of the best in its class. The Nokia 8800 comes with an integrated music player that can play MP3 and AAC formats with stereo output. A standard Nokia stereo headset is provided with the sales package, but the Nokia 8800 is also compatible with Nokia Bluetooth wireless headsets.
Other features include a set of 3D games designed to make use of the Nokia 8800's 3D graphics accelerator, fast data transfer via EDGE, and an XHTML web browser that lets you view web pages as they appear on a computer, albeit on a tiny screen. The Nokia 8800 has an internal memory of 64 Mbytes, but an external memory card would have been nice in a phone with as many media features as this one. Battery life is acceptable but not brilliant.
Overall, the Nokia 8800 is all about creating a big impression. It's a beautiful phone that has style by the bucket load. It's well-featured, but loses out to competitors like the Sony Ericsson K750i in this respect. If you crave features look elsewhere, but if you crave style, the Nokia 8800 is for you!

Based on the same series 60 platform used by the pioneering Nokia 7650 and Nokia 3660, the Nokia 7610 is a ground-breaking multimedia phone that features a 1 megapixel digital camera and up to 10 minutes of video recording. The phone comes with a Movie Director application, so you can shoot and edit your movies on the move.
This is one of Nokia's best phones, with full smartphone features, an excellent display and camera, and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The range of pre-installed and downloadable applications is immense, but the design is compact and lightweight (for a smartphone!) One niggle is the idiosyncratic keypad design which slows down typing and can be quite annoying. Audio quality isn't the best either, with mono MP3 sound only. Despite this, the Nokia 7610 is an outstanding smartphone that seems to be virtually free of the reliability and software problems that dog so many high-spec smartphones.

The Nokia 7600 is Nokia's first generally available 3G handset in the UK (the Nokia 6650 was not fully released in the UK). It's equipped with a wide range of multimedia capabilities including video recording and multimedia playback.
Disappointingly for a 3G phone it does not support video messaging and the screen is the worst on any current 3G phone, but hey, it's a Nokia!
The multimedia player lets you play music files stored in MP3 or AAC format, using either a stereo headset or the phone's integrated loudspeaker. Music files can be downloaded wirelessly from a compatible PC using the Nokia Audio Manager software which is included in the Nokia PC Suite. You can also use MP3 or AAC music tracks as ringtones.
Connectivity is excellent, with a choice of USB cable, infrared and wireless Bluetooth connections. The Bluetooth headset is essential really, as the phone is clearly not designed to be used in a conventional hand-held way for making calls.
This brings us on to the usability question. First the shape: it's a love-it or hate-it shape, and that's up to the individual, but there's no denying that the keypad loses points when it comes to ease-of-use. Single-handed texting is out of the question.
Overall the Nokia 7600 is a strange beast. It's design is unique, which can be good or bad depending on your view. It's a 3G phone, but without the high level of functionality normally associated with 3G phones. It's key features are surely video recording and music playback, but with a poor display, excessive weight and inadequate memory it doesn't really make the grade.

The Nokia 7280 is the third and most extreme of Nokia's trio of "fashion phones" - the other two being the Nokia 7260 and Nokia 7270.
The Nokia 7280 has a unique design. In fact, it's a phone that defines the word "unique". There is no keypad, only select, send, end, and 2 soft keys. Instead, the phone is operated using a voice-activated user interface. The phone has an active slide that opens to reveal the camera. You can also answer and end calls by opening and closing the slide.
Now, you're probably wondering "how does it work?" or maybe just "does it work?"
The phone is intended to be operated mainly through a voice-activated interface, and voice-dialling and simple voice commands seem to work well. However, relying on voice commands is quite risky, as they can easily go wrong especially in noisy environments (parties, clubs, etc.) Also voice dialling will only work for pre-configured numbers. If you want to dial a different number, or if voice dialling just isn't working for you, then you need to start using the keys. As we mentioned, there's no numeric keypad, but there is a select key, 4 soft keys and a rotating pad - a little like the controls on an iPod. The rotating pad is used to navigate through the on-screen menu. This makes for a clumsy user-interface that is only really suitable for occasional use. Whilst scrolling through a list of names in order to make a call may be a pain, texting is very difficult indeed. You need to scroll through a list of characters using the select button to select each one. Even with predictive text, sending messages this way is going to make you wish you'd got a normal keypad.
Visually the Nokia 7280 is stunning, finished in black lacquer, red and chrome, with a mirror-like display that can actually be used as a mirror. A small Nokia fabric label sticks out from one end, and the top of the phone flashes red when in use. The screen lights up when you slide the phone open. The handset is slim and lightweight and fits easily into a pocket or handbag. It has been compared with Art Deco lipstick, and that pretty well describes how it looks.
Let's take a look at the features that you get. The display is a small 65k colour screen featuring a subtle red glow that "exudes mystery and excitement" according to the Nokia blurb. The camera is VGA resolution and there's no video recorder, just a video playback facility. There's no camera flash, so taking pictures at night is going to produce disappointing results (despite the 7280 being marketed primarily as a phone for night-time use!) The phone includes an FM radio but no MP3 player. In other words, if you strip away the styling, this is a very ordinary phone with limited features that would probably retail for not much more than £100. But that misses the point of the Nokia 7280.
Reading the Nokia marketing material, it's clear that Nokia don't intend the Nokia 7280 to be used for regular business or daytime use. Instead it's designed as a second phone, or a "night phone". Viewed in this way, it seems to be a much more realistic option - at the end of the working day, you leave your normal phone behind and step out into the night with the Nokia 7280 in your pocket, to be used for calling, taking fun pics, occasional texts and general posing.
In conclusion, don't buy it for its features, definitely don't buy it for value-for-money, be aware of its limitations and preferably use it as a second phone. But if you want to create a big impression and have people drooling with curiosity to see your phone, then this is the one!

Nokia 7270 Review

The Nokia 7270 is another "fashion" phone from Nokia, part of the fashion trio that includes the Nokia 7260. It's a beautifully styled clamshell phone with rounded corners and made from a combination of metal, textiles and plastic. The textile covers are changeable and a matching soft pouch and carrying strap is supplied. The digital content (wallpaper, screensavers, etc) has also been styled to match the covers. In addition, optional style packs are available that complete the look and include leather straps, phone jewellery and a credit card case.

The external display is a 4k colour display, and uses STN technology rather than the superior TFT, so can be hard to read when outdoors. Open up the clam, however, and inside is a bright active matrix display with 65k colours and 128 x 160 pixels, which is good for a Nokia but not as good as the competition at this price point. The camera is VGA and includes a video recorder - again nothing special for the price. The functionality is definitely better than the 7260, for example the 7270 supports MP3 ringtones, and there are some useful features like an integrated handsfree speaker, voice dialling and a voice recorder, but in terms of functionality the Nokia 7270 is not an exceptional phone when compared to others at this price. In parcticular, Bluetooth is noticeable by its absence.
The worst feature of the Nokia 7270 is its weight. At 121g its around 30% heavier than the average Samsung clamshell. What do Nokia put into their clamshells that makes them so heavy?
Putting aside the weight issue and the fact that the Nokia 7270 is less well specified than any of its similarly-priced rivals, we have to admit that its an exceptional phone. It does just enough to stand comparison with other top-of-the-range phones, and it looks beautiful. If that's what matters most to you, then buy this phone and don't look back!

The Art Deco inspired design of the Nokia 7260 comes with a coordinated carrying pouch and strap, revealing Nokia's intention to make this phone a fashion item. It is a beautiful phone to look at, with its curved edges, high gloss finish and contrasting silvery highlights, and practical too, although the keypad suffers a little in usability.
The 65k colour display is bright and clear, although small, but good enough. The camera is VGA standard (640 x 480 pixels), and again is average. The integrated video recorder and FM radio are welcome additions, but all things considered there is nothing special in the functionality of this phone. It does enough, and looks stylish at the same time!
Overall, a good mid-range phone, packaged in an unusual and distinctive design, that is slim, lightweight and practical. This phone will appeal to those wanting something a little different and exclusive - not because of particularly high cost, but because it is different.

The Nokia 7250i is an upgraded version of the Nokia 7250. It offers XHTML support for a better mobile browsing experience, plus improved camera functions, enhanced MMS, and comes in a new range of colours. The built-in camera offers functions like zoom, contrast adjustment, slideshow, and a night mode for low-light conditions. The image editor enables you to add text, frames, and clip art images. Enhanced MMS offers delivery reports for sent messages, advanced group messaging features, and image scaling to reduce message size. "Portrait image caller ID" means you have the option of seeing a pre-set picture of the person who's calling you.
Like the Nokia 7250, the Nokia 7250i incorporates an integrated digital camera and offers most feature that people will want: colour display, polyphonic ringtones, a stereo FM radio and triple band, as well as Java capability. However, there is no getting away from the fact that the Nokia 7250i has a poor colour display, a poor quality camera and various reliability problems. A much better option is the newer Nokia 6230.

The Nokia 6822 is based on the previous Nokia 6820 model, and incorporates the same fold-out keyboard design. The display rotates 90° when the keyboard is fully opened. Like the Nokia 6820, the Nokia 6822 includes a range of functions including a camera with video recorder, Bluetooth wireless connectivity and high speed data transfer by EDGE. It's amazing how Nokia have managed to pack so much technology into a compact and lightweight phone!
At the same time, however, the Nokia 6822 retains many of the problems of the older model. The keyboard is not as easy to use as it looks, and is partly novelty rather than a full replacement for a real keyboard. The display, whilst upgraded to 65k colours is still very small and lags behind the competition considerably. The camera, again upgraded, is still poor compared with other phones at this price. And perhaps the worst feature of the Nokia 6822 is the shockingly small amount of memory, which really limits the capabilities of the phone.

The Nokia 6820 is the size of an ordinary phone. But it's bigger on the inside, with a full messaging keyboard. Like the Nokia 6800 and Nokia 6810, it's described by Nokia as a "Messaging Device" rather than a mobile phone, and is a device designed for those who need flexible communications whilst on the move.
Out of the trio of messaging devices (Nokia 6800, Nokia 6810 and Nokia 6820), the Nokia 6820 has the most features, adding an integrated digital camera and video recorder to its specification. The Nokia 6820 is also the most compact of the three, and weighs in at just 100g.
We like the Bluetooth connectivity and EDGE connection for high speed data, and the QWERTY keyboard is a fantastic innovation, but at the same time we are disappointed by the poor colour display and low resolution camera, and the keyboard is not as easy to use as it could have been. A good try from Nokia, and we look forward to a replacement design that fixes these shortcomings - that would be a truly outstanding mobile device. The Nokia 6822 goes some way towards this goal.

The Nokia 6681 smart phone is very similar to the successful and highly-rated Nokia 6680, except that the Nokia 6681 does not have the 3G functionality of the Nokia 6680. The phones are the same in most other respects.
The exterior design of the Nokia 6681 is nearly identical to the Nokia 6680, and the phones are the same size and very nearly the same weight. It's not a lightweight phone, but is typical for a smartphone. The keypad layout is very convenient and features a five-way scroll key, two soft keys, application key, edit and clear keys, send and end keys.
The Nokia 6681 incorporates a high quality 1.3 megapixel camera (1.23 effective megapixels) with a convenient protective slide. The camera has a flash with a range of 1.5m and a 6x digital zoom. There is also a video recording facility. Images can be printed directly from the phone to a compatible printer or kiosk using Bluetooth or USB cable, or transferred to a PC for processing. Video can be played back in full screen mode and the video player supports both MPEG4 and 3GP formats.
The music player supports MP3, AAC & RealAudio format tracks and provides stero output with a pair of Nokia HDS-3 stereo headphones provided as standard.
The Nokia 6681 is a series 60 smartphone and comes with a selection of Symbian applications. Applications provided on the memory card include Kodak Mobile (for printing images taken using the camera), Nokia Wireless Keyboard application, a selection of games and a Photo Editor. Messaging is of course fully supported, with SMS, MMS and e-mail with file handling for attachments in jpeg, 3gp, MP3, .ppt, .doc, excel, and .pdf format.
The internal memory of the device is 8 Mbytes (slightly less than the 6680), with the addition of a 64 Mbyte MMC card which can be hot-swapped. Connectivity is via Bluetooth or USB.
The Nokia 6681 can also be compared to the Nokia 6670 smart phone. The Nokia 6670 is similar to the Nokia 6681, except that the Nokia 6681 has an upgraded display, camera, EDGE connection and Push To Talk, although it's a little heavier and battery life suffers. We would recommend the Nokia 6681 in preference to the Nokia 6670, and overall it's an excellent smart phone with few of the bugs and problems encountered in earlier Nokia smart phones.

The Nokia 6680 is an upgrade of the Nokia 6630, which was Nokia's first 3G smartphone. It's a big improvement. Firstly, the physical design of the phone has been improved. It's less distinctive than the Nokia 6630, being squarer in shape, but the keypad is easier to use and the whole thing is slightly smaller (albeit a few grams heavier.)
Secondly, the imaging capabilities of the phone have been improved in a big way. The display is the same size as the Nokia 6630, but has been uprated to 262k colours. It's the best screen on any Nokia phone to date. The camera is still rated at 1.3 megapixels, but we can hardly complain about that! It's a high quality camera with a massive 6x digital zoom and a handy built in flash. It can't match Sony Ericsson's K750i, but remember that this is a phone first and a multimedia device second. A second inward-facing camera is used for video calling, which was a function missing from the Nokia 6630. A slide protects the camera from scratches and dust.
The Nokia 6680 has an integrated RealPlayer music & media player. RealPlayer supports a range of formats including MP3 and AAC audio and MPEG4 video. Audio output is in stereo and a pair of Nokia HDS-3 stereo headphones are provided as standard.
The Nokia 6680 is a series 60 smartphone and comes with a selection of Symbian applications. Applications provided on the memory card include Adobe Reader, Kodak Mobile (for printing images taken using the camera), Nokia Wireless Keyboard application, a selection of games and a Photo Editor.
As well as being a smartphone, the Nokia 6680 is 3G compatible, making it an ideal phone for applications requiring high-speed data transfer. As well as the obvious video calling function, the phone is ideal for video downloads, web browsing and email handling. The Nokia 6680 also seems to have cured most of the reliability problems that dogged the Nokia 6630, and we thoroughly recommend it for anyone looking for a cutting-edge multimedia phone with the advantages of both the Symbian operating system and 3G. It's simply Nokia's best phone so far.

The Nokia 6670 is a series 60 smartphone that offers a broad range of functionality within a stable, well-designed platform and is highly recommended for business use.
The 65k screen is the same size as other Nokia smartphones (176 x 208 pixels) and is adequate but not as good as rival smartphones from Motorola or Sony Ericsson. The form factor is convenient, with a conventional keypad that's more useable that the similar-spec Nokia 7610. This suggests that the Nokia 6670 is more targeted at the business user than the fashion user (or else that Nokia has learned finally that novelty keypads don't make for great phones!)
On the multimedia side, the Nokia 6670 comes with an excellent 1 megapixel camera with a digital zoom and a choice of normal and night modes. There is a also a video camera which takes reasonable quality video, with a maximum duration of ten minutes. Full-screen video playback is possible using the built-in RealPlayer software. The Nokia 6670 also supports video download and playback and can function as an MP3/AAC player, although only a mono headset is supplied.
The Nokia 6670 supports all the normal voice and messaging features that you would expect. These include voice dialing, speed dialing, voice commands, voice recorder and an integrated handsfree speaker. There is full support for MMS and email (SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4), with a document viewer capable of viewing Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. An integrated internet browser supports HTML, XHTML and WML. The memory card comes with a Netfront Web browser with suport for PDF files.
The internal memory of the Nokia 6670 is 8 Mbytes, and a 64 Mbyte memory card is supplied as standard. The size and weight of the Nokia 6670 are very good for a smartphone. Battery life is average to good.
The one area where the Nokia 6670 is weak compared with rival smartphones is in connectivity. Granted it comes with full support for Bluetooth and USB cable, but is missing an IR port. The internet connection is a GPRS connection, but there is no high speed data. This makes email and web browsing very slow.
Overall the Nokia 6670 is a great smartphone for business users. It lacks some of the functionality of the Nokia 7610, but has a better keypad. Equally it is missing some of the high-end features of the Nokia 6630, but seems to be a more reliable phone. The phone that trumps all of these is the new Nokia 6680, which has all of the funtionality without the reliability problems of the Nokia 6630. The Nokia 6681 is also an excellent phone if you don't want the 3G capabilities of the Nokia 6630 or Nokia 6680.

The Nokia 6650 was Nokia's first 3G mobile phone, released in the UK during 2003.
The Nokia 6650 includes an integrated video camera capable of recording and playing video at up to 15 frames per second. The Nokia 6650's digital camera has a 640 x 480 resolution, with 24-bit colour (16.7 million colors). The Nokia 6650's memory is 7 Mbytes, which is plenty for storing images, but not a lot for videos.
The Nokia 6650 has a Symbian operating system with a graphical user interface. It also has MMS, Java™, polyphonic ringtones and Bluetooth connectivity. Its main problems are the poor quality small display (the poorest display on any smartphone we've seen), low memory (not expandable), and its sheer bulkiness.

The Nokia 6630 is Nokia's first 3G smartphone. It's Nokia's most powerful smartphone yet, built on the Series 60 Symbian operating system with a wealth of pre-installed and downloadable applications. The Nokia 6630 is Nokia's flagship phone and it takes smartphones to the next level. Physically it's reminiscent of the Nokia 3660, although its more compact and has a better keypad. In terms of functionality, it offers everything that the Nokia 7610 can do, with the addition of 3G, an improved camera, faster processor and more memory. For the power user it's a winner!
Business applications include full always-on email support, with support for Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and a built-in application for reading attachments such as Microsoft Word and Excel documents. With full broadband internet via 3G or EDGE, you can send and receive multimedia documents very quickly indeed.
Multimedia applications include a high-resolution digital camera (1.3 megapixels) with up to one hour of video capture. You can also download video or audio (MP3/AAC) for playback on the high quality 65k colour display and stereo headset. The 3G connection is fast enough to enjoy real time video streaming. The supplied software includes Nokia Video Editor and Movie Director so you can edit the videos that you record. The web browser provides advanced HTML support, including background images, frames and some JavaScript so browsing the web is a much richer experience than on most phones. The large screen is ideal for viewing all these applications. It's not the best screen in its class, but it's as as good as anything Nokia have previously produced and it's good enough. It's worth noting too that the headset provides for listening to MP3 in stereo, unlike some of the other Series 60 phones.
One feature that's notable by its absence is video calling. The 3G functions seem to be aimed primarily at providing fast communication, and the video calling function has been left out.
There's a full range of connectivity options, including wireless Bluetooth support, both for headsets / car kits and for all kinds of data transfer. You can synchronise your contacts remotely using Bluetooth or via a cable.
The internal memory of 10 Mbytes is not going to be enough for all of the functions available on this phone, but a 64 Mbyte memory card is supplied and this can be hot-swapped to store or transfer data. For users who download a lot of applications, the lack of internal memory may be a problem, but then again only the Sony Ericsson P910i offers significantly greater internal memory. We would expect this to be remedied in the next generation of 3G smartphones.
Battery life is excellent for a phone of this kind. Depending on usage, it should be possible to get a couple of days use from this phone between charges.
At the time of writing, the Nokia 6630 has no direct rivals, but we expect that to change during 2005 with the launch of more 3G smartphones.
An outstanding phone, but a word of caution: some users are reporting reliability problems with this phone. The Nokia 6630 has now been superseded by the Nokia 6680.

It should have been a great phone - Nokia took a very popular mid-range phone (the Nokia 6610) and updated it with an integrated digital camera, voice commands and XHTML browser, whilst retaining everything that was good about the Nokia 6610:

What went wrong? The problems started with the poor quality colour display - perfectly adequate for a non-camera phone a couple of years ago, but hopelessly inadequate for a camera phone. Add to this the intermittent software and hardware faults that were present in the Nokia 6610 - faults that Nokia failed to fix in the Nokia 6610i - and increase the complexity of the device, thereby introducing more glitches, and you have a recipe for disaster. Build quality also seems to have gone down the pan with the Nokia 6610i.

The Nokia 6310i adds Triband capability to the Nokia 6310, enabling it to operate worldwide. This feature, combined with the new Java applications, famous user-friendliness and features like High Speed Data, voice dialling and voice recorder make the Nokia 6310i an excellent business phone.
The Java capability means that you can download applications just as easily as downloading ringtones or graphics. As well as Java games, you can also download applications like personal assistants, travel and information tools.
We would like to have awarded the Nokia 6310i a higher rating, but there are persistent reports of reliability and reception problems with this phone. The Bluetooth support is also limited, its a heavy phone to carry and some of its features are rather dated.
For those looking for a Nokia 6310i replacement, we recommend the Nokia 6021 which has all the features of the Nokia 6310i (and more) in an updated design.

The Nokia 6260 is a business-orientated smartphone with a range of interesting features.
One of the characteristics of the Nokia 6260's clamshell design is the rotating screen which can be rotated to a number of positions - open, closed, facing inwards and facing outwards. The display face can be closed with the screen facing outwards for browsing the internet or using applications.
The screen is very high quality - one of the best from Nokia - using active TFT technology for a sharp bright image, with 65k colours and a high resolution. A good quality screen like this is essential for making good use of the various business applications that come with the phone.
The Nokia 6260 is a series 60 phone with a Symbian operating system. Foremost amongst the pre-installed business applications is a mobile email client that uses Quickword and Quickpoint viewers for viewing attachments (Word and PowerPoint documents). Additional Java and Symbian applications can be stored, and a pre-loaded memory card is supplied with a number of "try-and-buy" applications.
The internal memory is not huge at 6 Mbytes, but the memory can be expanded with 32 Mbyte memory cards. The Nokia 6260 has an excellent range of connectivity options: Bluetooth™, infrared, Pop-Port™ connector and USB.
The Nokia 6260 includes a good quality digital camera that can shoot pictures at VGA resolution (300,000 pixels) and also record video. The camera is side-mounted with a movable display that allows for self-portraits. There's also a built-in FM radio and MP3 player, although the MP3 player is mono and not the best quality.
Nokia have succeeded in packing a lot into the Nokia 6260, with the clamshell design enabling them to have a large screen but still keep the phone size small. The phone is quite heavy, but no more than the average 3G phone, and this will probably be acceptable when the full range of features is considered. The screen is excellent, the spec of the phone includes everything that most users will need, and the range of Java and Symbian applications available for the phone is impressive. With the Nokia 6260 it seems that it is finally possible to have a business-orientated phone that retains the stylishness and fun features of a mainstream phone.
The Nokia 6260 will inevitably be compared with the Sony Ericsson P910i. It has to be said that the Sony Ericsson P910i beats the Nokia is most respects, however the Sony Ericsson P910i does cost and weigh considerably more than the Nokia 6260, so there should be room in the marketplace for both.
On the negative side, the Nokia 6260 does appear to have software and reliability problems. You should read the user reviews below to find out about people's experiences with this phone, but the main issues seem to be faulty phones, phones breaking and software glitches. It seems that Nokia smartphones often come with reliability problems, especially any like the Nokia 6260 that feature novel designs or features.

The Nokia 6230i is an upgraded version of the extremely successful and popular Nokia 6230. The Nokia 6230, although still popular was starting to look quite dated, with its low quality screen, basic camera and video recorder, lack of memory and other shortcomings, so the Nokia 6230i, released in the first quarter of 2005 is a welcome release.
Whilst still not at the cutting edge of phone technology, the Nokia 6230i offers a very good mix of features in a tried-and-tested user-friendly design. For Nokia fans, the Nokia 6230i is probably the best non-smart phone in the current line up.
The Nokia 6230i has a decent 65k screen with a bright active matrix display and a good resolution, although it lags behind phones such as the Sony Ericsson S700i or Sharp GX30i that were released last year. The 1.3 megapixel camera is as good as most current camera phones, and the video recorder can now record for up to 1 hour, instead of just short clips.
One of the most welcome additions is the addition of a memory card that can be expanded up to 512 Mbytes. This provides plenty of capacity for storing videos and MP3 tracks.
In terms of connectivity, the Nokia 6230i has it all: wireless Bluetooth capability, plus USB cable and infrared options. Internet access is fast with EDGE high-speed data transfer, and the phone is equipped with an XHTML browser for viewing websites. Email is also available.
There are a range of voice features including voice dialling, voice commands and an integrated handsfree speaker.
All things considered, the Nokia 6230i is an excellent all-rounder for demanding users, whether they be business users or technology-hungry personal users. There are no real shortcomings with this phone, and it's highly recommended.

Similar in many ways to the Nokia 6220, the Nokia 6230 is a business class phone that also includes features like an integrated digital camera, video recorder and a music player.
Slightly larger and a touch heavier than the Nokia 6220, the Nokia 6230 brings a number of enhancements, not least being the active TFT colour display with 65,536 colours, compared with the measly 4096 colours of the 6220. However, the screen resolution is still relatively poor at 128 x 128 pixels.
The quality of the camera has also been enhanced, with full VGA resolution up to 640 x 480 pixels. The camera is easy to use with the phone display used as a viewfinder, and includes useful features such as a self timer function, a choice of standard, portrait, and night modes and a choice of 3 image quality options: high, normal and basic. The video recorder has also been improved by extending the maximum duration of clips that can be recorded and played.

The Nokia 6220 is a business class phone that also includes features like an integrated digital camera, video recorder and FM radio.
A novel feature of the Nokia 6220 is the EDGE connectivity, which along with GPRS provides a very high-speed internet connection. In addition, the Nokia 6220's XHTML browser provides a rich full colour interface to the web.
Nokia have resisted the temptation to make the appearance of the Nokia 6220 "cool" and have sensibly provided a conventionally-styled keypad, making the phone usable as well as smart.
The main problems with the Nokia 6220 are the poor quality screen (just 4096 colours and 128 x 128 pixels) and poor camera (CIF resolution - that's just 352 x 288 pixels). These really let the phone down, and a much better choice is the Nokia 6230.

The Nokia 6170 is another clamshell phone from Nokia. The first thing you notice about the Nokia 6170 is its sleek stainless steel surfaces and chunky retro styling. It's very masculine and very sexy. The phone features a small external colour display and a larger internal display with 65k colours. The external display shows information on incoming calls, date and time, and phone status, and can also display wallpapers or screensavers, which is a nice feature. The internal TFT display is clear and bright, although smaller than some comparable clamshells.
The Nokia 6170 is well-featured. Its specification includes a VGA camera (640 x 480 pixels) with a video recording capability and a media player. The Nokia 6170 has good connectivity via high-speed data transfer on EDGE networks and USB. It's missing a Bluetooth connection, but has most features that you'd expect from a modern phone, such as 40-voice polyphonic ringtones and Java games, plus a few extras and comes packaged in a nice metal case. Battery life is also excellent. A tad heavy, but no worse than most Motorola clamshells. Memory is limited so don't expect to store too many video clips.

Nokia 6101 Review

The Nokia 6101 is a compact camera phone with a clamshell design. By Nokia's standards, it's very small, but it's still heavy compared with similar clamshells from Samsung. Still, Nokia are definitely making progress in the physical design of their clamshell phones, and this is a very attractive phone. There are dual colour displays and the keypad is thoughtfully laid out, with a 5-way navigation key and a dedicated camera button.
The camera is a standard VGA resolution, with the ability to take self-portraits using the external display as a viewfinder. This is not a great feature as the external display is so small - a rotating camera would have been a better solution. The camera has a night mode, but no flash. The camera also functions as a video recorder using the 3GP format. Nokia have partnered with Kodak to let you upload your photos to the Kodak website and have them printed and sent to your address. This is a service that you have to pay for, of course.
There is also a voice recorder, and the phone has an FM stereo radio. This works only when the supplied headset is plugged in, as the headset wire is used as the FM aerial. MP3 tracks can be used as ringtones, although there is no capability for listening to MP3's otherwise.
Overall the Nokia 6101 is a good mid-range camera phone with no obvious defects. Although it's quite expensive for what you get, it can just about hold its own with the current range of mid-priced clamshells from Motorola and Samsung, and is probably Nokia's most successful implementation of a flip-phone yet. Before buying, just bear in mind that for the same kind of money you could get a Motorola V620 with Bluetooth and a much better screen.

Hot on the heels of the Nokia 7210, comes the Nokia 6100, offering nearly all of the Nokia 7210's features, but with a digital camera option instead of the built-in radio. All this in an amazingly lightweight and compact package that oozes both style and sophistication! In fact it's Nokia's smallest and lightest phone ever.
Very similar in spec to the 7210/6610, the Nokia 6100 offers a colour screen, polyphonic ringtones, triple band, as well as Java™ capability. Its keypad is user-friendly and incorporates a nice 4-way scroll button. The Java capability means that you can download games just as easily as downloading ringtones or graphics. As well as Java games, you can also download applications like personal assistants, travel and information tools. Pre-installed Java applications include a calculator, currency and measurement converter, stopwatch, and two games.
MMS means that you can send and receive multimedia messages containing text, MIDI audio files, and graphics or animations.
The digital camera option comes as a camera/headset that plugs into the Nokia 6100's pop-port.
The Nokia 6100 is a nice enough phone, but its only real WOW factor is its light weight. Its specification is lower than the Nokia 7210 or Nokia 6610 and users have reported a number of reliability issues - see the user reviews below for example.

The Nokia 6030 is a non-camera phone with a smart appearance but limited functionality for the price.
On the positive side, this is a good-looking phone, with an appearance more like a top-end business phone. The keypad is well designed and functional, with a nice 4-way scroll key, and configurable right and left soft keys. The keypad does suffer a little from Nokia's habit of making keypads "cool", but it's perfectly functional. All of the basics are here, plus a couple of extras like the FM radio and integrated handsfree speaker. The display has 65k colours and is better than many of its competitors.
On the negative side, the Nokia 6030 seems to be rather pricey for what you get. For the same money you might have expected some decent connectivity (the Nokia 6030 has none - not even cable or infra-red), triband and even a camera. The Nokia 6030 has none of these features. It's not even that lightweight, considering that it has so little functionality. However, if you're a Nokia fan looking for a phone that costs less than £100 and doesn't have a camera, then this is as good a choice as any.

The Nokia 6021 is an excellent non-camera phone, clearly intended for the business user. It's a nice-sized phone that's not heavy, yet not too light. It's design is purposeful and smart, with a functional, well designed keypad.
The core theme of the Nokia 6021 is connectivity. Taking the voice aspect of this first, the Nokia 6021 is a great phone for just talking - good reception, excellent voice clarity, plus the benefit of an integrated handfree speaker and voice commands. Looking at messaging, it does everything from MMS to full support for email protocols. Data transfer via GPRS and EDGE is as fast as it gets without a 3G network, with data transfer speeds of 177.6 kbps possible (subject to network). Finally, connecting to other devices is taken care of with full Bluetooth connectivity, plus infra-red and USB. However, and this does seem to be an obvious ommission, the Nokia 6021 does not support Apple isync, so beware of this if you're an Apple user.
Many will see the Nokia 6021 as a replacement for the classic business phone, the Nokia 6310i. Certainly it's a good dependable phone if you want the core business functions without any frills. It's disappointing that Apple support is missing, and the LCD display, whilst good enough could have been a lot bigger. Still, it's not a very expensive phone, and it meets the needs of its target niche pretty well.

The Nokia 6020 is a mid-range business-orientated camera phone with a decent range of features.
The Nokia 6020 has a sensible keypad design and is a compact size. The joystick and rectangular keypad layout make it easy to use, and the menus are also intuitive, making it easy to access the phone's functions. The personal organiser is well thought-out, with an extensive calendar function to manage your daily schedules, meetings, and events. Voice commands, an integrated handsfree speaker and fast data access complete the essential functions needed by most business users.
The phone comes with a basic digital camera and a camcorder capable of recording video clips of up to 50 seconds, but imaging is not the Nokia 6020's strongest point. The small display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels is inadequate for a phone of this type and is one of the poorest in any phone of this class. Connectivity is also quite basic, with Bluetooth being an obvious ommission.
It seems that the Nokia 6020 is intended to be a budget business phone, but it might have been more successful if the camera and camcorder had been ommitted and a Bluetooth wireless connection and larger screen added. The Nokia 6020 is trying to be a jack of all trades, but is master of none.

The Nokia 5140i is an uprated version of the Nokia 5140, and goes some way to addressing the shortcomings of the Nokia 5140. It's marketed as an outdoor phone, with its main feature being that it is tough and resistant to wear & tear. The outer shell is tougher than most, and being changeable it can be replaced if it gets scratched or scuffed. The bottom flap helps to protect against water damage, and there is an inner module to provide additional protection against water damage.
The Nokia 5140i comes with a range of sports-inspired features, including a torch, electronic compass and thermometer. The "Fitness Coach" application enables planning and recording of activities, as well as sharing of training data with training partners. There are also sports-related wallpapers, animated screensavers and MP3 ringtones.
As well as the outdoor-related stuff, the Nokia 5140i comes with useful features like an integrated camera & video camera, a stereo FM radio, and an integrated handsfree speaker.
The two biggest problems that the Nokia 5140i shares with its predecessor are the keypad and the display. The keys are located close together and are not very responsive. This helps to protect the phone from water damage, but is not very user-friendly. The STN (passive matrix) technology used for the screen means that the display is difficult to see when outdoors - a real problem when you consider the target market for this phone. Neither of these key issues have been addressed in the Nokia 5140i.

The Nokia 5140 is the latest in Nokia's 5xxx series of durable phones designed to be hard wearing for outdoor and sports activities. Nokia claim that the Nokia 5140 offers "Enhanced durability and resistance to the elements and usage in sports inspired lifestyle." It's debatable just how durable the phone is - soak it in water or drop it onto a hard surface and it's likely to break, just like any other mobile - but Nokia have certainly made an effort to protect the phone against minor bumps and splashes. The outer shell is tougher than most, and being changeable it can be replaced if it gets scratched or scuffed. The bottom flap helps to protect against water damage, and there is an inner module to provide additional protection against water damage.
The Nokia 5140 comes with a range of outdoor "lifestyle" inspired features - camera and video recorder, flashlight, FM radio, thermometer, decibel meter (?), and a good personal organiser with an extensive calendar and notes option.
Sadly, the display is still only 4096 colours and is small at 128 x 128 pixels. The STN technology used means that the display is difficult to see when outdoors - a real problem when you consider the target market for this phone. Nokia really lags the competition when it comes to display technology. Polyphonic ringtones are also basic.
The camera provided is of average quality and the video recorder rather poor quality. The memory available is limited and so video clips are short. The poor quality of the display means that pictures and videos are small and hard to see.
The keypad, like that of the Nokia 5100 is not very easy to use. The keys are located close together and are not very responsive. This helps to protect the phone from water damage, but is not very user-friendly.
Overall there are some good features about this phone, and some ho-hum features. For people who are familiar with the Nokia style and are looking for a mid-range phone with added durability, this could be a good choice. Our recommended phone for outdoor use is the Siemens M65 which offers improved protection and better features. The Nokia 5140i is an enhanced version of the Nokia 5140, although it still has problems with the keypad and screen.

The Nokia 3510i updates the Nokia 3510 with a colour screen and downloadable Java games. Like the Nokia 3410 and Nokia 3510, the Nokia 3510i has all of the features that made the Nokia 3210 or Nokia 3310 so popular - downloadable ringtones, Xpress-on™ covers and great ease of use. It also has new features that were first introduced on the Nokia 3510 - polyphonic (MIDI) ringtones, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and GPRS (fast, always-on internet access).
The X-press-on covers available for the Nokia 3510i include some specialised functional covers, such as the gaming cover. Snap on the gaming cover, and you can really enjoy the 5 built-in games, which make good use of the phone's polyphonic sound and vibration effects.

The Nokia 3230 is a budget smartphone. Nokia have tried to pack in as many popular features as possible into this phone, so on paper it sounds great, with a megapixel camera, video recording of up to one hour, MP3 player, Bluetooth wireless games and fast internet access. It also features a compact design and is one of the lightest smartphones available - at 110g it compares well with series 40 phones - and it's priced to be popular.
The Nokia 3230 isn't a great looker, except in a boxy retro kind of way, but it's got a sensible keypad and a nice-sized screen. The screen is standard spec for a Nokia smartphone, and feature-wise it's comparable with most of Nokia's series 60 phones such as the Nokia 6670 or Nokia 7610. There are a couple of extras such as the Visual Radio, Push to Talk and Tunes Studio (polyphonic ringtone composer).
The Nokia 3230 comes with a Kodak Mobile Service which enables you to upload images to the Kodak Web site and then have prints delivered to your address. You can also print the pictures using Bluetooth wireless technology at any Kodak Kiosk at selected Nokia retail locations. Obviously these prints have to be paid for!
However, the downside of the Nokia 3230 is that corners have been cut to make this phone fit the budget. The phone menu is very slow, audio quality is poor, and there seem to be bugs in the firmware. The Nokia 3220 is being marketed as a fun camera phone, targeted at the youth sector.
The Nokia 3220 is a surprisingly slimline phone, and lightweight too. It has a nice chunky feel and there's a wide range of Xpress-on™ shells available for customising the phone. You can also make your own cut-out covers, just like the Nokia 3200.
The screen, whilst small, has 65,000 colours, and the phone has an integrated digital camera that takes reasonable quality pictures. You can also take video clips. Both the screen and the camera quality are much better than the Nokia 3200, although not in the same league as competitors like the Sharp GX15 or Sony Ericsson T630.
The Nokia 3220 comes with a number of "fun" features, such as lights that flash in time with ringtones, as well as during games and other kinds of phone functions. This is particularly effective at night. MMS messages can be animated with one of the cute characters provided.
The Nokia 3220 builds on the success of the popular Nokia 3200, and should be a popular phone for young people. it's just a shame that there's no radio included.

The "cool feature" of the Nokia 3200 is that you can create your own custom covers, using photos or your own design or artwork.
The Nokia 3200 has an integrated digital camera, which you can use to take snaps, send to friends, download to your computer, or print and use to make your own cover design. The Nokia 3200 also has a built-in FM radio, as well as support for wallpaper, polyphonic ringtones and Java games, making it a good all-round fun phone.
Overall the phone offers a surprisingly large range of features. Apart from the quality of the camera itself, which is really very poor, the only things that Nokia could have improved are the ease-of-use of the keypad, and in common with most other Nokia phones, the poor colour resolution. 4096 colours is not really adequate for a camera phone. This is really a toy camera phone, and the new Nokia 3220 is a much better choice provided that you don't need the built-in radio.

Nokia 3120 Review

The Nokia 3120 is a compact and basic phone with a smart metallic finish and a conventional design. The keypad is easy to use - looks like Nokia have learned that weird keypads may look cool but are a pain to use!
There's no camera on the Nokia 3120 altough there is an option to attach Nokia's "fun camera" if you want to take pics. The display is a passive matrix display that isn't easy to read in sunlight and has just 4096 colours, although that's all you can realistically expect at this price point. The handsfree speaker is a welcome touch, and the battery life is good. One fun feature is that the backlight flashes rythmically when the phone rings.
This is a decent entry-level phone, but virtually the same as the Nokia 3100 .

The Nokia 3100 comes with a cool glow-in-the-dark cover. Never lose your phone in the dark ever again! The Nokia 3100 also has lights that flash when the phone rings - in time with your ring tone!
The phone features a smart design with a user-friendly keypad and has lots of nice features such as tri-band that normally come in more expensive phones. The integrated handsfree speaker and excellent battery life make this is an excellent entry-level phone.
The main downside is that there is no built-in camera, but if you don't mind that, or are happy to pay extra for the optional "Fun Camera", then it's highly recommended.

Nokia 2650 Review

The Nokia 2650 clamshell phone, released in October 2004, has the kind of specification that Nokia's rivals were releasing over a year earlier. In fact, the phone has nearly identical features to the Nokia 3100 that was released 15 months earlier! The Nokia 3100 had the advantages of being a nice-looking, lightweight phone, whereas the Nokia 2650 is neither nice-looking nor lightweight.
It is hard to say anything very positive about this phone, and it confirms the impression that Nokia don't yet "get" clamshells. Our advice would be: "look elsewhere!"

Nokia 2600 Review

Available in the UK from September 2004, the Nokia 2600 is another "back to basics" phone from Nokia: no camera, no radio, a basic colour screen and, mercifully, a conventional keypad layout!
The Nokia 2600 is not rich in features, but is a nicely styled phone that fits in your pocket and is easy to use. The integrated handsfree speaker is a nice touch.
For some resaon, Nokia have decided to incorporate a spreadsheet function into the Nokia 2600. On a screen with just 128 x 128 pixels, this is an interesting decision!

Nokia 1110 Review

The Nokia 1100 is an entry-level phone designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. It replaces the Nokia 1100 and is a better phone in a number of ways: improved battery life, the addition of a handsfree speaker, changeable covers, and uprated ringtones and games.
The screen is small, but the inverted black & white display is easy to read. Menus and navigation are simple and easy to use, especially the icon-driven phonebook. The keypad is very nice, with a square design and good sized non-slip keys, and the 4-way scroll key is very easy to use. Everything about this phone speaks simplicity, and it's easy enough for a child (or her grandmother!) to use. It's also nice and lightweight, and the battery life is excellent. There are few features other than the basics, but it's an ideal first phone, or a good choice for people who just want to make occasional calls.

The Nokia 1100 is an entry-level phone, designed with simplicity and reliability in mind. One nice feature of the Nokia 1100 is its silicon keypad - easy-to-use and non-slip. The sides of the phone are also made of a non-slip material, so overall the phone is nice to hold and physically easy to use.
The Nokia 1100 does come with a few gimmicky features, such as a torch, but Nokia has mostly stuck to basic features, so reliability and user-friendliness should follow. If you're looking for something exciting, look elsewhere, but if you want a basic phone with excellent battery life, the Nokia 1100 is a good choice. The new Nokia 1110 improves on the 1100 in a number of ways.
